Wolves have lauched a bid for Juventus defender Danielle Rugani according to reports from England.

The Daily Star claims that the Premier League outfit have informed Juventus of their plans to sign the ball-playing defender in the summer. It is understood that Wolves has opened the bidding at €20m.

This report comes amid interest from London side Arsenal. The Gunners are said to be interested in Rugani as they look to revamp their defence.

New boss Mikel Arteta is expected to be backed in the summer and the club are likely to sell Sokratis and Mustafi to free much-needed funds to bolster the defence.

Rugani is rated highly in Italy with Chelsea apparently close to signing the defender last season. Juventus stood firm with their £45 million valuation which saw the Blues baulk at the last minute.

It is understood that the Italian Champions could lower their demands with the defender not having the best of seasons. The Covid-19 crisis also means that clubs are looking to save costs and selling Rugani would help the Italian side financially.

Rugani has been relegated to fifth-choice centre-back in Turin following the signing of Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral.
