Liverpool are reportedly interested in Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar. Italian tabloid Gazzetta Dello Sport says that the Reds have expressed their intentions to sign the player but Inter Milan have no plans to sell the defender.
Skriniar has enjoyed an impressive ascent to the top of the game in recent seasons and is regarded as one of the best defenders in Italian football. It is understood that the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City are also keen on the 25-year old defender.
Liverpool have an edge as the Slovenian international idolizes former Reds star Martin Skrtel but Inter Milan have the final say in the transfer. The defender is under contract until 2023 and Inter Milan value him at around £70 million.
The Reds are looking to maintain their dominance over the English game and have been linked with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly lately. A centre-back pairing of Virgil Van Dijk and Skriniar could make them almost impregnable in defence.
Skriniar is an old fashioned style defender capable of lunging into tackles and also passing out from the back. A move to Liverpool would be one of the biggest transfer stories in the summer
