Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz is keen on keeping midfielder Kai Havertz for the foreseeable future. The talented German has been linked with a move away from the club following his impressive season
There are reports that London side Chelsea have made a move for the player and have begun negotiations with Leverkusen regarding a transfer fee. This had put into doubt whether the game at Mainz would be his final match for the club. However, Bosz believes that the player would remain with the club until the end of the season.
Speaking to reporters the manager wants the midfielder to remain at the club for the German Cup and Europa League campaign. “I certainly don’t have the impression that this will be his last game for the club,””He is still under contract with us and I have to assume that he will be with us next season too.”That will include the German Cup Final next month and the next Europa League game against Rangers in August.
Havertz has been sensational for the Reds this season and it would be a huge loss if he is unable to assist the club in their quest for domestic glory.
