Arsenal have been handed a transfer boost in the quest for summer transfer target Thomas Partey. Reports in Spain claim that Atletico Madrid are becoming resigned to losing the midfielder at the end of the season.
According to Cadena COPE, the Spanish outfit have attempted to seal a new contract that would increase his release clause from £45 million to £72 million. However, these attempts have been unsuccessful with the Ghanaian international looking likely to leave in the summer.
Partey is regarded as one of the best midfielders in Spain with his physical strength and ball-playing ability one of the best in Europe. Arsenal are one of the clubs linked with the player and his release clause is affordable for the Premier League club.
There have been indications within his camp that this could be his last season in Spain with his father recently urging the player to take up a new challenge in England. A move to England would be a good choice for the box-box midfielder and he has the tools to succeed.
At the moment Arsenal appear to be the favourites for his signature but this could change in the coming weeks.
