Ryan Sessegnon

Still only eighteen years old, he is still adapting to life in the Premier League. Ryan is an extremely versatile player who can play at left-back, left-wing or right-wing. He is a speedy player who also has an eye for a good finish.

He will still only be twenty-two years old in 2022 and will definitely not yet be the finished article. It will, however, be interesting to see if Southgate includes him in the team or the squad.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

A similar player to Alexander-Arnold, they are both right-backs. If, however, Walker has a serious injury or declines by the time he’s 32 and it’s time for the next World Cup, the Crystal Palace youngster may well find himself in the team.

The man keeps going from strength to strength and there is a reason why Manchester City are looking at him. Rice is a deep-lying midfielder who is also very composed on the ball. Additionally, he is able to play at centre-back.

Rice is strong in a tackle and has very accurate passing. He could be the answer to future midfield problems as players such as Henderson will be surpassed in terms of ability by the next World Cup.

Reiss Nelson

Like Sessegnon, he is only eighteen years old. He has a great turn of pace and a sense of flair about his play. he can play on the right Wing or in the ‘number 10’ role.

Ben Chilwell

Ben isn’t as young as the other players, but in four years he will only be twenty-six and he already looks like a very accomplished full back, so his potential is limitless in the foreseeable future.

England currently don’t have a cemented left-back, as changes between Young, Rose and Shaw always occur. Therefore, Chilwell has the perfect opportunity to make the spot his own.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Callum is eighteen years old and Bayern have just submitted a £40million bid for him. The left winger is right footed and possesses pace and skill. England will have many options such as himself, Nelson and Sancho, and it looks to be very exciting times for the nation.

Phil Foden

Phil is playing week in week out with players such as David Silva, Aguero and De Bruyne and is constantly learning and improving.

The eighteen-year-old has a cultured left foot and looks to have the confidence to handle himself on the big stage, having already won the U18 World Cup last year. He will be definitely looking to be a starter, come the next World Cup

Harry Wilson

He recently made news after scoring a 30-yard free kick against United. It gained nationwide attention, and this young man has a brilliant future ahead of him.

Rob Holding

Rob has been Arsenal’s best centre back this season and has been unlucky with an ACL injury. By the time the next World Cup comes around, he will be twenty-six years old.

Standing at 6’3, he is a commanding centre-back who is quick and can play out excellently from the back. This is something that has already impressed Southgate.

Jadon Sancho

The main man at the moment, the man on everyone’s lips. He’s been tearing up the Bundesliga with Dortmund and they are currently first in that league.

Jadon has pace, skill, awareness and a killer instinct in front of goal. He will be an excellent player for England to have at the next World Cup and will rip teams to pieces.
