All eyes are on Karim Benzema at Stamford Bridge this January. Chelsea are keen on signing the Real Madrid forward during this transfer window.

The 31-year-old Frenchman is, however, more interested in a move to Liverpool as well as other clubs such as West Ham, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs, and Manchester United. Fair to say the Premier League has caught the attention of Benzema, former Lyon starlet!

According to George Elek, spokesperson at Oddschecker “Chelsea look in dire need of a new striker. Barring the two goals in the FA Cup at the weekend, Alvaro Morata looks lost, and they can’t continue to rely on an injury prone Olivier Giroud […] Benzema has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and this could be just the stage for him.”

Real Madrid vs Real Socidad ended with a 0-2 defeat.

Real Madrid is currently falling short from their previous ‘champions’ label. The club is currently fifth, one point behind the top four. Furthermore, they are ten points behind being top of the division.

No Zidane, No Ronaldo

The club underwent two major changes during the summer, Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, two characters who brought both fight and personality to Real Madrid. Zidane made Real Madrid back-to-back UEFA Champions League champions. Under him, they set a new record of five European wins in a row.

However, Real Madrid is now struggling to secure wins against clubs such as Real Sociedad and Eibar. These are two teams who they previously had no problem beating under the management of Zidane.

The absence of Ronaldo has brought a change amongst the team, and Benzema is now playing with more determination up front with a desire to get a goal for Real. The Frenchman is one of Real’s essential players. He’s been involved in twelve goals and six assists in all competitions, just this season alone.

Chelsea F.C. are in urgent need of a new striker. Could Benzema potentially be the perfect fit for this Chelsea team?
