Mario Gotze is rumoured to rejoin former boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
The 26-year-old is a target for Klopp following health problems over the last two years of his career. Gotze’s future at Dortmund is unclear and he may be on his way to Anfield.
Bundesliga expert, Lee Price, has revealed that Gotze has admitted he wants to join Liverpool as he is keen to test himself in the English game.
Liverpool have recently signed Fabinho from Monaco but also lost Emre Can to Juventus, so are in need of some midfielders. It has been rumoured that Klopp has considered signing Xherdan Shaqiri and Jack Grealish, but none have fully convinced the ex Borrusia Dortmund boss.
It is known that Klopp is a huge fan of the Dortmund man, and he believes he could reach the form that made him one of the most promising players in European football again.
Gotze has revealed that he is always open for a reunion with his former boss.
“I decided to leave Bayern and Jurgen Klopp was interested in getting me to Liverpool. And I was also interested in working with him again.
“He is a world class coach so that is why it’s always an option.
”I decided to join Borussia Dortmund, but it was not a decision against Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp.”
Gotze could be allowed a move away from Dortmund in this transfer window, with just two goals last season for BVB who finished a staggering 29 points behind champions Bayern Munich in fourth place.
